FEEL GOOD. We believe that “you can’t get very far in life until you start doing something for somebody else”. Our motto says it plainly: “We Serve.” SPRING: We sponsor a Health Fair & Blood Drive in May and the Kids Carnival during the Priest Lake Spring Festival in Coolin. SUMMER: The Annual Lion’s Community Benefit Dinner and Auction held Saturday, June 24th, at Elkins Resort on Priest Lake, is the Lions’ biggest fundraiser. With these funds we have been able to provide assistance to people within the community who are in need of help with sight and hearing, medical expenses, firewood, gas, lights, food, college scholarships for Priest Lake students, and many other needs. All are welcome. Reservations can be made by calling 208.443.7039 or emailing meatcutter.88@gmail.com. In June, the Lions and the Priest Lake Sportsmen Association hold the “Kids Free Fishing Derby” where over 400 kids enjoy their hand at trying to catch the “Big One”. FALL: At the scholarship fundraiser “Chuck Sterns Memorial” in September, we have a “Turkey Shoot” with kids’ games and a bake sale, which raise money toward scholarships for Priest Lake students furthering their educations. WINTER: We don’t slow down. During the winter we sponsor the “Priest Lake Vintage Snowmobile Races” at the USFS airport which adds to the winter excitement in the Priest Lake community, and for our resorts, and businesses. This year at the race, an 11-year-old boy shared that he can’t wait to compete in the Vintage Snowmobile Races next year! “4 ALL SEASONS”: The combined efforts of the Priest Lake Kaniksu/Coolin Lions Clubs and the wholehearted support of the Priest Lake community and its leaders have helped provide money to the Priest Lake Elementary School, Priest Lake PTO, Priest Lake EMT and Ambulance, Priest Lake Search and Rescue, Priest Lake Hospice, West Priest Lake Fire District, Coolin-Cavanaugh Bay Fire Protection District, Priest Lake Groomer Association, Priest Lake Nordic Center, Priest Lake Library, Priest Lake Museum Association and the Priest Lake Food Bank. Tax-deductible individual or corporate sponsorships and donations are greatly appreciated and are welcome all year-long.
